I extend a strong welcome to this site. In Marathon's Confirmation Class, we just viewed the film "Facing the Giants." We have looked at what we belive in relation to God, sin, & grace. The class has studied making decisions in reference to Jesus Christ, as our Lord and Savior. We will continue from that point on Sunday November 7, 2007 at 6:00 PM. Our Bible Study is in vacation until the second Wednesday of November. Then we will be looking at John 3:1-21 on the theme of "More Encounters with Jesus." Join us on November 14th for this discussion and study. On Tuesday november 13, 2007 at 6:30 PM there will be a meeting of those affected in anyway by Atention Deficit Hyper-activity Disorder (ADHD). All our meetings and activities at Marathon UMC are open, friendly, and geared toward sharing our gifts and ministry, to the purpose of building one another up in their faith in Jesus Christ. I extend to one and all through this blog an opportunity to be heard, to be responded to if necessary, and to offer an invitation to grow in the faith and knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Our annual community Thanksgiving Eve Service will be at St. John's Episcopal Church on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 7:30 pm. The Church members are excited about hosting the community Churches this year for it has been many years scince many of us have been inside the Church. It is due to the Church's size, not the lack of hospitality. This year their enthusiasm and excitement has passed into the community. We are certainly a blessed people. Pastor Gene
